faq - kids & babies

*PLEASE NOTE: I AM CURRENTLY NOT TAKING ANY NEW ENGAGEMENTS FOR 2011. I WILL BE AWAY ON MATERNITY LEAVE. THANKS FOR STOPPING BY!

  • What to expect?
  • Expect a fun shoot! I work really hard to capture the kids in their most natural states. This means you're doing your thing as you normally would on a Sat afternoon - just playing with them and smiling! You might even forget you are on a shoot.
  • What to wear?
  • Avoid patterns / logos or anything else that might be distracting on your clothing.
  • Avoid jewelry (wedding / engagement rings are ok)
  • If it is a family portrait, try to match your clothes:
  • Plain white, black or similar tones of one colour can look best. The more uniform you guys look, the better and less distracting it is in the images after.
  • Jeans works great for a more casual look
  • What to bring?
  • Bring some of their favourite toys (keeps them occupied and happy!) You might want to bring more than one / two toys, from my experience the attention lasts only a short amount of time!
  • Repoirtoire of known tricks that make them smile. Every child is different, you as parents know best what litle tricks make your kids smile! It could be:
  • a simple peek-a-boo
  • a more demanding flying superman
  • Or even as random as some tupperwear with little balls inside.
  • You don't have to do extensive work here, just keep it in the back of your mind as you prepare for your shoot!
  • "Taking family photos with 6 month old twins is no easy feet, but Ana did it with ease! Not only did she make us feel comfortable and the boys laugh, the pictures were absolutely beautiful. We will forever treasure them. The boys look so happy and the photos seem natural and comfortable, not planned and staged liked most photographer's shoots. She has a wonderful ability to pull natural joy in her subjects that translates into one of a kind photos. Every time we pass them on the wall or show them to people it simply makes us smile. Ana was a wonderful photographer and we will use her for years to come to chronicle our boy's childhood."
